The Westwood Community Band is a group of adult volunteer musicians of varying ages and experiences. We are sponsored by the Westwood Department of Recreation and since 2001, have played summer concerts in the Bandstand in Veterans Memorial Park, downtown Westwood, Hub of the Pascack Valley, Bergen County, New Jersey.

Our programs feature a variety of music, including light classics, showtunes, big band music, marches and patriotic selections played by the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Dixieland Band and various small ensembles. All concerts are free of charge and open to the public. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket. In the event of rain, concerts are held indoors at the Westwood Community Center, 55 Jefferson Avenue.

A typical summer schedule includes a series of concerts on consecutive Friday nights, starting with the last Friday in June and continuing through the 4th Friday in July, plus an additional concert on Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. The Band also participates in special events during the year, including Westwood’s “Home For The Holidays” and Memorial Day Parades.

We are always looking for additional members from Westwood and from towns throughout the Pascack Valley. This is a great opportunity for musicians to continue playing after high school or college, or to dust off their instruments after a few years of inactivity.  Adult musicians who would like to participate in future concerts with the Westwood Community Band, are encouraged to contact the Band at WWCommunityBand@Optonline.net.
